MNT60050 50mm Refractor Telescope Kit
Observe the Moon and distant subjects with the Minolta MNT60050 refractor telescope kit. Its 50mm objective lens and 600mm focal length work with the included K10 and K4 eyepieces to provide 60x and 150x magnification. A 5x24 finderscope with crosshairs helps you locate a subject before viewing it through the telescope.
The azimuth mount and height-adjustable tripod let you position the telescope for your viewing location, with an accessory tray to keep eyepieces within reach. The kit also includes a hybrid 90° diagonal prism, a 1.5x erecting lens for correctly oriented terrestrial views, and a 3x Barlow lens for additional magnification when viewing conditions allow.

View terrestrial subjects in the correct orientation while increasing eyepiece magnification by 1.5x.
Hybrid 90° Diagonal Prism
Place the eyepiece at a comfortable viewing angle for astronomical observation.
Adjustable Tripod with Accessory Tray
Extend the tripod legs to position the telescope, and keep eyepieces and optical accessories within reach on the tray.
Azimuth Mount
Move the telescope horizontally and vertically to aim at your subject, then secure the viewing position.

Prepare for Your Session
Set up outdoors and allow the telescope to adjust to the surrounding temperature. Keep your viewing path clear of windows, which can introduce reflections and distort the image.
Make the Most of Moonlight
For lunar observation, look along the boundary between light and shadow, where surface details are easier to distinguish. A partially illuminated Moon can offer more contrast than a full Moon.
Choose Power to Suit the Conditions
Begin with the K10 eyepiece and center your subject before switching to the K4. Higher magnification also makes movement and atmospheric disturbance more noticeable, so return to lower power when the view is less steady.
Keep Your Subject Centered
Confirm the subject in the main eyepiece after aiming, then make small adjustments as it moves through the view. Let vibrations settle before refining focus or changing eyepieces.
